Lee Campbell Perrie’s main body of work is titled Anywhere but Here. His work explores escapism in the context of ‘Augmented Reality’. With the rise of the digital age, it has become possible to choose to live from home. Events can be re-experienced; the past is present. This work is executed with the aid of a Virtual Explorer. The Explorer skips through the virtual space after being engulfed by the content he digests. This work aims to determine the true nature of a digital bystander and the role we played in the publicization of these images. Are we to be held accountable for the capturing of these images? Are they any less real from behind the screen?
