Rhiannon Elliott’s work, Chaos in a Panorama, is a response to the ever-changing material and social landscape of Dublin’s city centre. Her compositions are based upon the repeating patterns of scaffolding that have appeared across the streets of Dublin over the past couple of years. Her work often includes references to specific locations within the city, where venues such as The Bernard Shaw and Tivoli Theatre once used to stand. These absent venues figure as characters in within her project, which highlights the decline of Dublin’s youth and creative scene, as cultural venues are gradually displaced by hotels and apartment complexes.
