Stevie Wilson’s short film is an alternative interpretation of the Celtic mythology and Pagan traditions of Halloween or Samhain (pronounced sow-en). The film explores and visualises the Irish and Celtic folklore of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the Celtic New Year. Samhain was once the most important fire festival of the Celtic Wheel, the ancient calendar that also includes the pagan ritual celebrations of Imbolg, Bealtaine and Lughnasa. A Song for Samhain forms part of a larger body of short film works dealing with aspects of Celtic mythology.
